Five Great Gifts for Breast Cancer Survivors

Five Great Gifts for Breast Cancer Survivors

By Lisa A Mason

If you're looking for a gift for a friend or loved one that has survived breast cancer, you know they've been through a very tough battle and although there will be times that they are ready to celebrate, there will also be times that their energy is running low and they feel physically and emotionally drained. What's the perfect gift to give? Here is a look at five great ideas.

Time to herself

If the breast cancer survivor is a mother of small children, her job has probably been doubly difficult. If you're able to take the kids on a special day out, perhaps the park or the zoo, while mom gets some time to herself, this gift is not only inexpensive, but priceless to her. If it's in your budget, consider giving her a gift certificate to a Spa where she can get a massage and relax her cares away while you keep the kids occupied.

Journal

A beautiful journal can provide a great inspiration to write down feelings - or used as a daily gratitude list that almost always provides a wonderful mood boost during the toughest times. If you're very close to the breast cancer survivor, consider filling in the first pages with pictures or a collage of her very favorite things as a happy reminder.

Bubble bath and candles

The warm water of the bath is a great way to sooth aches and pains and take some time away from the stress of daily life. Aromatherapy products such as candles and scented bubble bath are a wonderful excuse for her to close the door, dim the lights and soak her cares away.

Lotions

Soothing lotion is often very welcomed by a breast cancer survivor with dry skin and itching often a side effect of many treatments that she's had to go through. Shea butter is one of the best as a "skin super-food" that has amazing healing properties; packed with vitamin A and fatty acids. It's one of the best ways to combat excessively dry skin and feels wonderfully luxurious.

Friend time

When she's feeling up to it, consider taking her out for a special day. If she enjoys the outdoors and has enough energy, a short hike in a scenic area breathing fresh air and enjoying nature can often be just what the doctor ordered.
If she loves to shop, a day shopping and letting her pick out her own gift may also be especially appreciated. Adding an afternoon at the salon getting manicures and pedicures together could be the icing on the cake!

After fighting cancer, it means a lot to have a little luxury every day, even if it's just a nice soak at the end of the day or a scented candle and a massage with scented lotion. Fine Gift Soaps has many great options for adding some luxury to your life.
