Top 10 Best Movies of All Time

Today thousands of movies are produced all over the world but how many are really remembered by us? Not many of them compared to the ones we remember which were created in the twentieth century. Here we present Top 10 Best Movies of All Time, which have been appreciated by one and all till date.
1. The Godfather, ranked as one of the topmost movies in American cinema, starring Marlon Brando, Al Pacino, James Caan and Robert Duvall came out in 1972. It was produced by Albert S. Ruddy and directed by Francis Ford Coppola. The film based on the time span of 1945 to 1955, portrayed the leading actors as leaders of a crime group in New York. The story revolves around the character Michael Corleone, played by Pacino, and shows how an ordinary man turns to become an underworld gangster. No doubt, the film won three Oscars in the categories Best Picture, for Best Actor (Brando) and in the category Best Adapted Screenplay (Mario Puzo). The film acted as an inspiration for future directors, making gangster genre movies. The success was so huge that it led to the creation of two sequels, of which The Godfather Part II proved to be another highly successful movies of all times.
2. Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope, released in 1977, holds another top position in the history of world cinema. First in the Star Wars saga films, it is considered as the first of its kind in the genre of science fiction movies. It was highly acclaimed due to its use of special effects. The film which was made on a budget of $11million, had a profit of $460million including an earnings of $314 million from its overseas market.
3. Gone with the Wind. Remembered as one of the first in history of romantic cinemas, was released in the year 1939. The story has the backdrop of American Civil War and stars Vivien Leigh, Leslie Howard and Clark Gable. It was produced by David O. Selznick. The film started under the direction of George Cukor, with Victor Fleming replacing him and finally completed by Sam Wood. It is said that over 1400 women were rejected, before selecting Vivien Leigh in the female lead. The movie has ten Academy Awards to its credit, including two honorary awards.the categories were Best Picture, Best Director (Victor Fleming), Best Adapted Screenplay (posthumously awarded to Sidney Howard), Best Actress (Vivien Leigh) and Best Supporting Actress (Hattie McDaniel.
4. Casablanca It was directed by Michael Curtiz and had Humphrey Bogart, Ingrid Bergman, in the lead role along with Paul Henreid, Claude Rains, Conrad Veidt, Sydney Greenstreet, Peter Lorre, and Dooley Wilson. Based in the backdrop of second world war, it got released in the year 1942. With three Academy Awards, including one of Best Picture, it is considered as one of the best Hollywood movies ever made. Citizen Kane ( 1941), Seven Samurai (1954), Cross of Iron (1977), Titanic (1997), The Lord of the Rings trilogy (2001-2003) and 2001: A Space Odyssey are some of the other top ranking best cinemas we have ever seen.
