Having a family of your own – a spouse and children is definitely a dream come true. However, this is something that you should prepare for carefully, cautiously and responsibly. You cannot decide to marry and have children just because of one factor. Yes, you may be feeling strong love towards your partner today but this does not necessarily mean that you should settle down already. It is advisable to consider different factors so you are sure that you are making the right decision at the right time. Here are some signs that you are ready to settle down already:



o You already have enough savings – let us admit it, the very first factor that you should consider is your financial status. You cannot marry and have children when you can barely support your own needs. It is your responsibility to provide a good life for your future children, so it is important that you have enough savings and possibly investments before you start your own family. Milk, diapers, baby clothes and other necessities of baby can be expensive so you must make sure that you can provide all these things for your future kids. Of course, you should also consider the fact that you need to build a house for your family.



o You already have stable source of income – you should not only have enough savings but it would be better if you also have stable source of income like a business or a job.



o You are matured emotionally and mentally – besides taking care of the financial aspect of your life, you should also be concerned about your maturity. It is advisable that you secure your emotional and mental maturity before entering another chapter of your life, which is marriage. Raising kids could be very hard without enough maturity on both parents’ parts.



o You are over the party scene and nightlife – you could also say that you are prepared for marriage when you are already over the lifestyle of single person. You cannot be out every night to dance and party with your friends when you already have a spouse and kids waiting for you at home.



o You are 100 percent sure of your partner – last but most importantly, you should be confident that you are with someone who you want to spend the rest of your life with. It is also advisable that you assess the level of maturity and preparedness of your partner to make sure that you are both ready for marriage. This way, you will ensure success of your relationship and marriage.



When you see yourself agreeing to all the things mentioned in this article then you are sure more than prepared to settle down and start your own family. Many people enter in marriage hastily thinking that they can easily get out if anything goes wrong through the help of divorce or annulment. But, isn’t it better to have something that will last forever? The only thing that you can do to ensure this is by making sure that you and your partner are both prepared to face a lifetime commitment not only between each other but a commitment to God as well that you will stick by each other through thick and thin. When you settled all these things then you are sure to be ready to become a mommy already.
