Is Google Really Developing a Facebook Killer?

By Titus Hoskins

No less than CNN is reporting the rumors that Google does indeed have a social networking site in the works which could give Facebook some competition. This new social site/program is supposed to be called GoogleMe or Google Me.

Only Google knows the truth.

However, creating such a site would be a smart move on Google's part since they do need to compete with Facebook, mainly because Facebook is turning into a real search engine, one that could possibly give Google a run for all those lucrative search dollars. Ridiculous you say - not really, especially when you consider Facebook's recent move towards "Open Graph Search" and its use of the "Like" button and box.

Unless the surfing public changes overnight, Bing/Yahoo is not going to give Google any real search competition, but Facebook with its massive number of users and rating system could present a true contender.

We also might see a complete change in how that surfing public sees online search. Google and the other search engines are quickly becoming one big "joke" in regards to organic search with big companies buying and selling their way into the top 10 spots and the search engines are helpless to stop it.

Link buying and selling has made organic search a joke and more and more web users are catching on to this fact. Once this becomes common knowledge, search engines will be appropriately viewed as corporate billboards rather than anything of true relevance or importance - even the mighty Google could fall.

That's why Facebook and its actual ratings/rankings by actual consumers/customers are becoming much more important. While even this kind of search equation is open to abuse, a search engine based on such "user-based" results will beat Google's SERPs any day.

Once web users realize the true value of such rankings and search engine, then Google will have some real competition at last.

Of course, Google is not standing still, for those of us who make a full time living from search engine marketing will tell you, Google is placing more emphasis on "user-generated" content and ratings. They have placed more emphasis on the "truer" ranking systems on the web, those coming from social
networking sites like Twitter, Digg, Del.icio.us, YouTube, MySpace and even Facebook.

How many Tweets does a post get? How many Diggs does your content gather? How many comments does your YouTube video have? How many Thumbs Up? How many times is a web page bookmarked in Del.icio.us and recommended to friends.

Granted even these social bookmarking sites can be manipulated, but it is just a little harder to do than simple link buying or employing simple SEO tactics/services to get your site to the top spot.

Which brings us back to the question at hand, is Google developing a social networking site like Facebook? If you count all the programs/sites which Google presently offers up: Google Wave, Google Voice, iGoogle, Google Accounts, Google Buzz, Gmail, Google Profiles... one could even argue does Google really need another social networking program?

Even considering all of these current offerings, but is it just me, or is there no real center to all these Google products? Google needs one site which connects all of its programs/products at your fingertips, maybe iGoogle should already fill the spot, but it doesn't take in everything or have that crucial social networking element.

Google should have a social network site like Facebook, where you can easily connect with family, colleagues and friends, but this site should have a sidebar which lists all your Google's programs/sites which you use. Make this site your "one-stop-center" for all things Google.

Give Google and all its countless programs a concrete solid focus or center. One click and everything that Google has to offer is displayed on ONE page. More importantly, all Google's products need to be consolidated and connected - Google Voice, Wave, Buzz, Maps, Mail, Profiles, Search... all need to be functional in one simple social networking platform.

Then make or develop a user-based ranking/rating system within this newly formed social networking site and you will be able to compete with Facebook when it comes to true democratic search. Such a site, if it does materialize, could give Google's Search Engine, and search in general, a much needed dose of honesty. Then again, if wishes were horses, beggars would ride and Google would no longer be a one trick pony.

Work For Google? - Why Not Let Google Work For You?

By Robert Hillman

One of the hottest topics around at the moment is the talk about how to work for Google. That's OK, they are are a great organization with fantastic resources. But let's take a look at how we can get Google to work for us!

I am of course talking about how we can get Google to redirect a massive amount of traffic to any website of our choosing. Massive traffic equates to massive profits. There are two things to keep in mind. One is that there is a humongous amount of website traffic that Google sends to 'someones' websites every day of the year. That traffic is always constant, you cant just turn it off.

The second thing to consider is 'why' Google' sends traffic to those websites instead of our own? That is an easy question to answer, those websites have met the required 'criteria' to be listed in the high ranking first pages of the Google search engine. Now, if you could meet that criteria, then don't you think Google might send just a little bit of traffic to your site as well?

Let's take a look at what we can do, instead of thinking ,work for Google, let's look at how we can get Google working for us. The first part of the 'right criteria' we need, is some good keywords. The funny thing is that Google will help us get them. If you take a look at the Google 'Insights' tool, you will see that Google will share all the latest data on the hottest keywords on the planet! (that's good of them, don't you think?)
In actual fact, Google is looking to send masses of traffic to those very keywords. So what you have to do is to start using them, use them on your articles, use them on your websites. There are a lot of other ways to use them also. But at least you can start somewhere now, instead of thinking you can work for Google, let them work for you.

Advantages of Facebook Ads Over Google AdWords

Advantages of Facebook Ads Over Google AdWords

By Adam Ada

First of all, I would like to mention that comparing Facebook Ads with Google AdWords is not really appropriate. Google is a search engine and Facebook is a social networking site. The intent and engagement levels of the audience are completely different for both the sites. In Google people actively search for information and products and on Facebook they are looking to connect with their friends. Keeping these points in mind, I would like to give a brief summary of what advantages do Facebook Ads have over Google AdWords;

Usually Much Cheaper (specially for Small Businesses)

Google AdWords is quite expensive even if you bid on low or medium popularity keywords (and especially keywords related to buying online). Facebook is a new system wanting to jump into paid advertisement. If you hit the right niches, you can get traffic for a fraction of PPC pricing. Facebook ads are much more cost-effective and very good for small businesses trying to gain a presence online without a big budget.

Advantage of using Images/Photos in ads

Visual aid will be provided to your ad through this feature. An image is worth a thousand words and the ability to show images in ads is a huge advantage Facebook has over Google AdWords. You can use images in Google AdWords by creating your own image banners but they don't convert too well. In Facebook ads, it is easy to upload a small image along with your text, which helps drawing attention of your target user. It is also good if you want to show images of your brand or product. I believe this is the most powerful feature of Facebook ads.

More flexibility

Facebook ad descriptions can be up to 135 characters long (versus 75 at Google AdWords). More space for creativity. In Google AdWords you can't use exclamation marks (!) while Facebook allows you to use it, this creating more effect in the ad. Restrictions are also less when it comes using many different words (copyright issues) in Facebook. On the whole, setting up an ad campaign on Facebook is much less frustrating.

Highly Targeted Demographics/Keywords

Facebook advertising helps you target keywords and demographic much better. AdWords doesn't know as much about user searching (apart from their cookies and previous searches). Facebook has an advantage of getting more information about the user because we login to our profiles first and then see the ads, so you can be sure that your ads are shown to people with profiles that contain your targeted keywords and demographics. Facebook provides the following 11 targeting factors for advertisers;

Location
Age
Birthday - this one is more recent. Try wishing a user happy birthday and offer them something special
Sex
Keywords - these are based on a user's profile information including activities, TV shows, Movies, Favorite Books. Even job titles are included n this field.
Languages
Interested in
Education
Workplaces
Relationship
Connections - to avoid showing ads to people who have already joined a group or become a fan of a page etc.

Take advantage of these targeting factors, because if you're not then you're missing out on the huge advertising potential of Facebook. Increase targeting to make an advertisement more relevant.

Facebook advertising does have some troubles such as there is no conversion tracking option and undoubtedly AdWords is great for this. Also, there is no ability to show ads at a particular time of the day. Business-to-business advertising also becomes less likely on Facebook (keeping the friends' social networking concept in mind).

If you are using Google AdWords or any other paid search platform, it will be a great idea to try Facebook ads. You will be surprised by the outcome and scope.

High Paying Google AdSense Keywords - Top FAQ

High Paying Google AdSense Keywords - Top FAQ

By Asem Eltaher

You must have heard about earning money with Google advertising program and how the job can be properly done to make a living online. However, I am sure that you are curious about how everything is going on. Well, here are some of the answers for the top frequently asked questions.

Q1: How does Google track AdSense?

Well, based on the published policies and magazines, 2 technologies play this role. Depending on the preference of the involved advertisers, Google puts into effect one or more of these concepts. They make use of what is known as contextual targeting wherein ads are placed depending on the analysis done by Google. The other technique is by placement targeting where the advertisers are allowed to list their specific instructions and preferences.

Q2: How to add keywords to websites?

You ought to perform some SEO to know which key phrases you would want to add. Surely, you should add key phrases or search terms that fit to your topic, do not suffer from high competition, and enjoy a decent amount of traffic.

In this manner, you can include the chosen terms in the following positions:

  • The title of the webpage as well as both of the headings H1 and H2.
  • It is a good idea to include them in the "alt" tag of an image.
  • Finally, add these keywords in the content of your published articles.

Q3: How to block AdSense?

Some browsers come with inbuilt plug-ins, which is effective in blocking these ads and, therefore, they will not appear anymore on your webpage. Some more programs are installed like security suites that are also programmed to do this job. In this context, avoid using any software from a non-trusted source as it might be harmful to your computer.

Q4: How to buy AdSense keywords?

It is then your job to visit one of the many companies that offer keyword lists. You can search for these online and should immediately be flooded with a number of results. Other option, which I do recommend for you, is to search for ready made websites for sale. It is really worthwhile to search well for these good offers as you get websites that are already optimized with high paying terms and search engines friendly.

Q5: How many AdSense accounts have been closed?

Online statistics say that around 10-20% of the accounts opened in the year 2008 are banned. To avoid such a situation, you have to be careful and not abuse any of the rights you would have signed when you opened the account.

This includes invalid clicks and using programs to increase revenue by automatically opening and clicking these ads. Even placing ads on banned blogs call for immediate termination of the account.

Are you prepared to learn from a 25 years old business owner? Have you ever thought how he uses high paying keywords to make $40,000 per month and every month? You will absolutely miss a lot, if you chose to overlook his true amazing story with the top paying Google AdSense keywords. Hurry right now, no money is needed.

Google AdSense - How Much Money Can You Make From AdSense?

Google AdSense - How Much Money Can You Make From AdSense?

By M Morgan-Bellinger

According to a poll done by Problogger a while ago most AdSense publishers, about 30%, make less than $10 a month whilst the second highest amount of AdSense sites (20%) earn up to $500 a month.

There are however around 5% who earn more than $10,000 a month from Google's magic AdSense program.

This should give us AdSense publishers a lot of encouragement when you think that it is entirely possible to make $10,000 a month from AdSense as there are people making that kind of money every month.

So whilst these kind of earnings are a reality, to make this kind of money you need to ask yourself the following questions;

  • How much do you want to make from AdSense?
  • How hard are you willing to work to achieve this?
  • How much time are you willing to spend working the Google AdSense program?

If you can honestly answer "whatever it takes" or something to that effect & you are willing to commit yourself to working towards that monthly AdSense earning figure then you may have a chance of actually achieving it.

So How Can You Make $10,000 From AdSense?

Well here a two ways to do it;

  1. Put up 1,000 sites that each make $10 a month
  2. or...
  3. Put up 1 site that makes $10,000 a month

Seriously though you would need more than just 1 website but certainly not as many as 1,000 - that would just be too difficult to manage & maintain.

Factors That May Influence Your AdSense Revenue

  • Topic & Number of Sites Start with a few which have fairly popular topics such as photography or web design where you can be assured of enough demand & advertisers for Google to serve up AdSense ads on your sites. A topic for which there is little or no demand will not have enough advertisers for Google to provide your site with AdSense ads.
  • Earnings Per Click The higher your AdSense earnings per ad click the less clicks you will require to reach your revenue target. Therefore ensure that your content is rich with high paying keywords so that you get AdSense ads that will produce higher earnings per click - sometimes just 1 click can generate as much as $5.00 whereas many clicks will only make $0.01c.
  • CTR (Click Through Rate) The higher your CTR the higher your earnings for a particular number of site visitors.
  • Website Traffic All other things being equal, more traffic will generate more revenue
  • Relevant Ads If the ads Google serves up are not relevant to your site's content your site visitors will be unlikely to click on them as they won't be to do with what attracted them to your site.

To sum up, the amount of money you make from AdSense = CTR + Traffic Volume + Ads with High Paying Keywords + Relevant Ads

So to get started on making truckloads of money, find out how you can make $100 every day from AdSense with these 9 Key AdSense Tips here...

Don't Go Too Extreme When Choosing Keywords For Google AdSense

Don't Go Too Extreme When Choosing Keywords For Google AdSense

By Morris Zhang

Pay-Per-Click (PPC) of keyword for Google AdSense is a hot topic in all webmaster or advertising forums. Some guys blame their low PPC keywords for their humble return. Some guys tend to ask what are the keywords which the highest PPC and plan to build up independent websites or write blogs around them. There are still some guys trying to make money by providing an updated list of keywords sorted from high PPC to low PPC. Needless to say, no one who hopes to make money purely through Google AdSense will be so stupid to choose the keywords with the lowest PPC. However, should the webmasters follow the strategy of targeting the keywords with highest PPC in order to maximize their return? Not really.

To facilitate your understanding, let's go through the mechanism of making money from Google AdSense briefly. If a visitor comes to your site and clicks an ad, you and Google will share the revenue from each click, which equals to the Pay-Per-Click price set by some advertiser. Based on this logic, the determinants of your Google AdSense earnings including the followings:

  • The traffic of the website. More accurately, the number of unique Visitors of your site. Let's designate it as N.
  • The Click-Through-Rate (CTR) of your ads.
  • The average PPC of the keywords determined by your website content.

So, the total revenue R equals N*CTR*PPC. Obviously, PPC is not the sole factor that determines your return from Google AdSense. You have to maintain a relative high standard of quality of your website and implement effective and continuing promotion strategy, so as to ensure a good deal of traffic. Meanwhile, in order to achieve a satisfactory CTR, you have to make effective use of ad places in your websites and in the meantime not overuse your website's ad capacity so as not to scare your visitors away. Content quality and relativity are quite important for CTR, too. Thus, although centering your topic or content around keywords with high PPC is quite important, you have to achieve a satisfactory result of your website traffic and CTR as well.

However, a high PPC never means a highest PPC. If you automatically believe a highest PPC will secure a highest return from Google AdSense, normally you are wrong. Based on my own AdSense data, the keywords which bring me the most return cumulatively are those ones who have middle to upper level of PPC, but far from the highest. Because the web pages related to middle to upper level of PPC are, in a statistical sense, always have a much higher amount of traffic and a much higher CTR than those web pages with the keywords whose PPCs are among the highest, and the traffic and CTR advantages together far outweigh the disadvantage out of a relative low PPC. Of course, this conclusion is purely based on my experience. If your experience is totally different from mine, don't hesitate to leave your arguments here in the comment section.

Anyway, I suggest you not go too extreme when choosing keyword for your Google AdSense program. My experience tells me that targeting at the keywords with a middle to upper PPC will bring you a much larger return. Why not take a shot?

Google Doodles and the Investors Behind Them

Google Doodles and the Investors Behind Them

By Tom Copeland

Google has long been known to beloved users and to this writer as pretty much the only search engine with personality, to internet and tech speculators as a business and industry innovator, and to early stock investors as an absolutely boon for their retirement accounts. Probing all 3 could give us some insight into the big G's think tank and whatever the big announcement the company is expected to release today at the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco, and could result in a nice bump in the stock price.

You've undoubtedly seen and enjoyed the "Google Doodles" on holidays, which refer to the cute and commemorative animations that appear on Google's homepage just above the search box periodically. Whether it be Santa on a sled overtop a home with the Christmas lights spelling out the company's name, or more recently, their April Fool's joke logos (this year Google "announced" on July 1st they would be switching names with Topeka, Kansas, citing, "Topeka voted to bring super-fast broadband to the residents of the Capital city through a program Google has launched; Google was flattered and wanted to return a nice gesture. Topeka, in return, would rename themselves Google, Kansas"), Google loves to display those doodles.

The Google Doodles are at it again, but with no specific holiday or event to attribute the new doodles to, Internet-wide speculation has been sparked and the rumors are flying. You may have noticed yesterday on the Google homepage the flash animation above the search box of little colored balls that would fly in every direction when a mouse barreled through them, only to settle into the familiar Google logo we're used to on boring and uneventful days.

The Google logo is all grey upon first impression. Start typing, however, and the letters begin to colorize. So, why all the effort?

Today, Google is taking over the Museum of Modern Art in San Francisco for a search event led by some of the company's top executives and engineers. The event was announced last Friday, and via a Twitter message, Google hinted the company has an announcement to make, but it's really anyone's guess.

It's obvious to me that Google has some feature or product or update they will be rolling out, and the doodles and Twitter messages is their way of saying "it's something big". The animations have one thing in common - an example of how the interface and components of a web page can be manipulated without actually clicking anything. While that may be old technology (Adobe pioneered Flash years ago), it's technology that Google has never particularly embraced.

We'll simply just have to wait and see what Google says at the Museum of Modern Art later today. In the meantime, it's worth noting what a powerful and disruptive company Google has been since its 1998 launch and subsequent initial public offering a year later. The company's stock price has multiplied five-fold in just over 10 years, a nearly unheard of feat of impressive growth.

Early this year, Google also changed the corporate landscape not just for American companies but for an entire overseas country, and everyone who watched the debacle. The company made a bold and public exit from China, with CEO Eric Schmidt saying in a Newsweek article, "this isn't a business decision. This was a responsibility decision", after a hacker attack on human rights activist's private Gmail accounts was eventually traced to a Chinese University. The move says a lot about how company balances and behaves between the interest of its own principles and of their stockholders. Moving out of China is a terrible move from a business standpoint - they stand to lose 17% of their market share to Chinese rival search engine Baidu, who owns nearly 70% of the market share, in what is considered by some as the largest market in the world.

But from a corporate responsibility and ethics standpoint, it's an absolute triumph. On one of the last pages in its IPO, Google wrote a clause disclaiming that the company may not always act in the interests of the stockholders; that there may come a time when it will make decisions based on its character morals and standards for doing business. To decision to pull out of China and stand up for what the company believes in is a breath of fresh air in our scandal-plagues era or corporate irresponsibility.

Shares of Google are currently trading up just a fraction of a percent, but if the weight of the announcement today is powerful enough to move the market, intuition suggest it will move higher. I wouldn't say the price of Google's share is inflated, and it's too early to assume the news of today's announcement is built into the price. In the end, regardless of the announcement and whether or not the stock moves today, there's a lot to be proud of as a Google shareholder.

By Chirag Patel

Hi AdSense publishers and blogger. This article is for who have not tried any monetizing methods to make money online from blog or website other than Google AdSense. And for who have tried to apply for Google AdSense but not succeed. And also for whose AdSense accounts are disabled recently.

After the grand success of internet marketing company Google AdSense, countless people are diving in the Internet, The ocean of Opportunities to make money online. There are many advertising programs other then Google AdSense who let you earn online through your online content. Actually it won't be worthless giving a try to other alternatives of AdSense even if you are satisfied with earnings form Google AdSense.

Before I introduce AdSense alternatives, I would like to explain, why some people (may be your also) will prefer using other ad network than Google AdSense. Some of the well known comparison parameters between these AdSense like advertising programs are

  • Mode of payment and minimum payout limit per month.
  • CPC (Cost per Click) rat, Relativity of ads with content.
  • Availability of ad network program in publisher's locality for easy payment.

I always heard web publishers and bloggers complaining about the absent of PayPal payment option in Google AdSense, and in many countries like India, Google AdSense gives only single mode of payment, that is through check in local currency. It becomes difficult for publishers in these countries while they want to pay online through PayPal for hosting or other purchasing and they really want online income in their PayPal account. OK so let us try other alternatives with the comparison parameters explained below.

  1. Yahoo Publisher Network: This is similar ad network to Google AdSense and in very tough competition with Google AdSense. Provides, relative ads like AdSense and minimum payout limit is 100$.
  2. Chitika ad network. Most poplar specially for US traffic. If your blog or website receives US traffic more than other countries, probably this may become more earning option than others. Its search term based advertising features and filling blank space in wider screen with a ads gives you chance to increase your online earning. Chitika offers payout to your PayPal account and this is probably best AdSense alternative.
  3. Kontera. This in not like normal CPC ad network similar to above all. Its intext ad network like infolinks. Offers PayPal payment with minimum payout limit of 50 USD.
  4. Infolinks. This is another in text advertising program like kontera. Offers PayPal payment and minimum payout limit is 50 USD.
  5. Adbrite. This program is specially designed to sell ad space on your blog and website to make money from it.
  6. Bidvertiser. An another CPC ad network which gives payment in your PayPal account.
  7. Text Link Ads. This program allows you to sell text links and intext links in to your blog or web content.
  8. Clicksor. An another in text advertising program like kontera and infolinks.
  9. BuySellAds: Specially designed to buy and sell ad space on blogs and websites. This is different from AdSense like CPC programs; it's like trading platform for ad space on blogs and websites where prices and cost are decided by seller and buyer per time basis.
  10. TribalFusion. Best paying program, but requires very huge visitors base per month.

These are not only available AdSense alternatives; the number is growing day by day. Which program is good for you, depends on you online, so just give them a try and choose your best online money making program.

Google AdSense Alternatives: Pay Per Click Programs

By Paul Maciel

Pay per click is a fabulous option to earn huge money online. You can leave your day job forever with the proper utilization of the pay per click option. Almost anyone on this earth can earn money with the help of Google AdSense. There's no doubt about that. But, in the process they overlook the potential of other PPC networks available in the market. Moreover, at times, Google AdSense behaves in a very childish manner and bans its users without much justification. This leads to a huge frustration for an online marketer. This article will try to explain some of the best PPC networks which are known in the market for giving tough times to the Google AdSense.
Bidvertiser: The underdog
Bidvertiser is a terrific and powerful alternative of Google AdSense. From the user point of view, it's really easy to use the Bidvertiser PPC platform. Their support system is very friendly which helps you to clear your doubts in a simple and effective manner.
When you publish Bidvertiser ads on your website, you will earn in two different ways. Once a person clicks on the published ad, you will earn. On the other hand, if the click converts to a sell, you will again earn some money. The payout is only $10 which is paid at the end of the month. You can get the money via wire, check and PayPal.
Only the best bidder's ad is displayed on the publisher's site. It helps to earn higher in less time. This is a unique feature of the Bidvertiser PPC network. The publisher enjoys full freedom to do the layout of the ads as per his preferences. Unlike some other PPC networks, Bidvertiser is not much pushy.
Monitoring is an important aspect of any PPC network. Bidvertiser will get a very high rank in terms of providing real and faster reports to the publishers. So, with this platform you can keep track of your online income without much effort.
Chitika: The game changer
Chitika is known for its innovative features and continuous updates of the program. The interface is quite easy to use. If you are just starting out to make money online, then you should go for Chitika. There can't be much argument here.
Chitika has a very unique feature. It helps you in blocking the ads for a certain period to not irritate customers. The Chitika ads are never contextual. So, if you are failing to give up the habit of Google AdSense, then you can combine it with Chitika as they don't compete with each other.
You can get the payout by two ways. For a PayPal payout you need a monthly minimum of $10, while for a check payout you would be required to accumulate at least $50 in your Chitika account.
Get Chitika | Premium
Adbrite: the experimenter
Adbrite is known for its continuous experiments to make the platform more beneficial for the publishers. One can easily sign up for an adbrite account without facing any hassles at all. In the next step, you are required to detail about your site in a precise but powerful manner. The pricing part is completely up to you. You can set higher prices at the starting and cut it down later on. The best thing to do while setting the price is to calculate your target for a month and then accordingly slice it down to per ad basis. You can give discounts for long term deals. It will help you in creating a strong client database.
The coding part is very simple. Almost anyone can do it. All you need is to follow the mentioned procedure in the dynamic interface. Adbrite uses an interesting platform to measure the ad clicks and traffic flow. This is a very potent feature of the Adbrite network.
Infolinks: The next big thing
Infolinks is growing at an exponential rate in the past few years. Everyday, hundreds of online content publishers are signing up with infolinks. Moreover, the number of advertisers who use the Infolinks PPC platform is also increasing in a lucrative manner. Therefore, you should not ignore this ad site.
In the world of in-text ads, infolinks is the king. Nobody can challenge that. As a publisher, you will always enjoy full freedom to control the number of ads appearing in your website. This kind of ad doesn't irritate the viewers. Compared to other companies in this niche, infolinks is quite faster. Moreover, it doesn't slow down the publisher websites.
So, if you have gone through the above reviews, then you might have understood the fact that it's really tough to label one of them as the best pay per click program. The concept of best is quite a relative matter. The same program which is best for you might not be good enough for your friend. A lot depends upon your patience, energy level, will power and confidence. You need to combine all of these to earn maximum money online with the best pay per click program.
You might need some external help to earn money online even with the best pay per click program. If you can afford the money, then you should go for an expert's help. On the other hand, if you don't have enough money to invest in an expert, no worries! All you need is some dedication to learn the nuances of pay per click or online money. It will take time to understand the whole procedure. But, you shouldn't feel discouraged. At the starting, the earnings will be lower. But, with time you can surely fly high.
While working with the best pay per click program, you need to focus well to earn more. Don't combine too many PPC platforms at the starting. It will confuse you. So, the best policy would be to stick to one program at a time till you understand its mechanism. Just go for any of the above mentioned best pay per click programs and see the difference yourself. Your life will change in no time with the correct and systematic use of the PPC option.

What Are The Best Google AdSense Alternatives?

What Are The Best Google AdSense Alternatives?

By Daniel Moro

Google AdSense has been revolutionary in terms of providing a way for webmasters to earn revenue from their web sites, particularly for smaller businesses. But are there any good alternatives to Google AdSense?

It is not usually a good idea to put all your eggs in one basket, so you should identify several alternatives. By doing this you may even discover an alternative that is more lucrative for your site, and at the very least you will be prepared in case something happens to AdSense.

Let's look at some of the best alternatives to Google AdSense advertisements on your web site.

Chitika

Instead of displaying the same old advertising units with text and image ads, Chitika provide active boxes that show targeted products from various manufacturers. Chitika boxes can even show an ad box containing a product alongside several competitors' products.

Yahoo! Publisher Network

At the time of writing this Yahoo! Publisher Network is still in Beta mode but once it is fully released it should be a viable alternative to Google AdSense. As with AdSense you can provide your web visitors with contextual ads. Yahoo conveniently offers four ways to receive payment including PayPal. That will be welcomed by many international webmasters who grow old while waiting for US checks to arrive and then get cleared through their banks.

Sell Advertising Spots

This is a traditional alternative, but it is still a good one. If you have a strong customer base you should be able to find advertisers to purchase advertising spots on your web site. You can sell spots by the month and offer a discounted option for six and twelve months.

Write Affiliate Advertisements

If you don't want to spend time trying to attract traditional advertisers you can make your own ads for affiliate products. Check out the thousands of products at ClickBank or Commission Junction. Select several products that closely match your visitors' interests. Now write affiliate ads, or use image ads with your own affiliate link.

CBprosense

If you don't want to manually write your own affiliate ads for ClickBank products then you could consider automating the process with CBprosense. It is a tool that will spider your site, analyze its content and then deliver a list of relevant links to the best performing products in the ClickBank marketplace.

These are five of the best alternatives to Google AdSense advertising. There are many more and several that promise to deliver contextual ads. However I suggest that whenever you are considering an alternative that promises contextual ads, do a quick check through your favorite search engine or webmaster forum to see if anyone is actually making any revenue by using their service. It is one thing to promise the technology, and another altogether to have sufficient advertisers to constantly deliver appropriate ads to your site.

The Pros and Cons of Google AdSense

By Helen Reimer

Google AdSense is a good way to earn a residual income online. The ads are easy to set up, and the money you make depends on the amount of traffic you have coming to your website. My personal experience with AdSense has been great thus far, and there are many benefits that this program has to offer you. Here are some of the pros and cons.
Pros
Easy Money. Google AdSense is one of the easiest ways that you can earn a residual income. All you have to do is create a website, drive traffic and put up some ads and you can begin to make money almost immediately. Thus Google does not require any extra work on your behalf.
Good Money. AdSense also allows you to earn a good residual income. There are many internet marketers who make their living off of AdSense alone. However, in order for you to make the most out of this, you need to do a keyword research so that you can develop your content around high paying keywords. The Google Keyword tool will help you to do this so that you do not have to waste your time writing for markets that will not pay you.
Customized Ads. One thing that I really love about Google is that they allow you to customize your ads to fit the rest of your colors on your website. This helps the ad to blend in with your content so that it will not distract your readers or turn them away.
Cons
Not Available in All Countries. One of the main complaints that I have heard against AdSense is that they do not pay publishers in all countries. I do not know why they would be selective, but perhaps there is not enough business in certain countries, and thus it is not worth it for them. However, as the internet grows, perhaps they will reconsider and pay everyone who wants to be a publisher.
No Second Chance. AdSense is very strict in the sense that you do not abuse the system. If you are caught then they will suspend you from the program. But the real kicker is the fact that once you have been suspended you don't have a second chance. They will not reconsider your application again.
Therefore you should take the time to read over their rules and regulations so that you can abide by them, as it really is a great program to be a part of.

3-Way Links: Link Building That Google Loves

By Adam C Cherrington

As an online marketer, you already know that Google rules the roost when it comes to getting traffic to your website. Your site must show up near the top of the results on Google when a user types a search term into the box if you hope to get visitors and shoppers to enter your web store. Since there are more than 8 billion websites on the Internet at last count, it is not that easy to be sure that the web crawlers that Google sends out will locate your site and boost it to the top of the list. One of the best ways to attract the attention of the Google-bots is to acquire a large number of one-way links that point to your site. So, what strategy should you use to gather those links?
Jonathan Leger is a marketing expert who has written several ebooks and developed a number of software products that were all designed to help marketers earn that crucial top-tier Google ranking. After extensive research and a lot of trial and error with his own sites, he has learned that there are three basis types of links that Google is looking for before it will bestow the honor of a good rank on your e-commerce business. In a nutshell, you need:
• Several different link texts. Google does not look kindly on hundreds and hundreds of links to your site that all have exactly the same text. In fact, you may actually be punished and put in the infamous Google "sandbox" if you have too many identical links. Jon Leger says his research shows that creating about 60% of your links with your top search term is good. He then recommends that you use a secondary keyword for about 30% of the links, and 10% for a third term. This method produces the kind of diversity of links that Google loves while keeping your main keywords in the forefront of your efforts.
• A gradual growth in links. The Google-gods will not be pleased if hundreds of new links to your site appear all at once. That is like a huge red flag that says, "These links are from spammy, poor quality link farms." There are some services and unscrupulous SEO experts out there that will do this kind of linking, and it is bad news for any business. Instead, a slow but steady growth in the number of links to your site is the ideal you should strive for.
• Links from many different geographic areas. Likewise, Google is not fond of links that all come from the same IP address, or even several different addresses that are too close together geographically. The best idea is to have incoming links from many different places all around the world.
Ok, so now that you know what Google wants, how do you as a marketer go about making sure Google is pleased? Jonathan Leger has created a product that can satisfy all of the criteria set forth by the search engine giant, and save you lots of time and effort in the process.
3 Way Links
When you sign up as a member of 3 Way Links, you will be joining a vast network of websites that are all looking for links the way you are. It is an easy process to join the program. All you have to do is add the domain you want to promote and your desired keywords into the system. Then, you upload a PHP file to your site from 3 Way Links, and make a link to that file from your home page. That's all you have to do. 3 Way Links then automatically creates links from other sites within the network that follow all the rules that Google sets out.
You will get links with several different texts, from many unique IP addresses, that build up gradually over the course of a few weeks. As an added bonus, none of the links will be simple reciprocal links that are usually ignored by web crawlers. Instead, they all involve three different sites where A links to B, and B links to C, while C links back to A. That way all the links are one-way and are smiled upon by Google. It is a terrific time saver for a busy web master, and a very effective strategy.
Cost
As a businessman, you are undoubtedly interested in the cost of such a valuable service. For $47 a month, you can put as many as 50 sites into the network and receive up to 250 links for each website. That's less than $1 per site per month. When you think of the potential for a return on your investment that is many times larger than your $47, the program sounds like a very good deal, indeed.
A computer geek as a child, Adam C. Cherrington grew up to discover he had a surprising talent for creative internet marketing. He's the creator of more than 100 websites, including Sandtray Therapy Institute, now in its third year online, and SiteGrinder. He currently mentors marketers to be full-time Internet Marketing Consultants, and helps them create a promotional presence that attracts the kind of clients who make them happiest.

It provides map views, driving directions, and contact information about businesses and points of interest. In search results, businesses show up beside a Google map first in the list, for searches including location-related terms (like city, street, or zip code).
Google Places is the service that you can use to put your business on Google Maps, with more content. You can add photos, video, your web address, hours, categories, and more, to help local customers find you.
Google frequently fine-tunes and adjusts these services. Google Places itself is recently re-named, formerly known as Google Local Business Center.
If you're wondering how it all works, you're not alone. Let's jump in and clear up some issues now:
Myth #1: Google Places and Google Maps is just the same information shown 2 ways.
Fact #1: Google Places helps people find business when searching a specific location. Maps helps people explore a geographic area many ways, including street views, business listings, and more.
Of Google Maps, Google says "Each business listing on Google is in fact a giant 'cluster' of information that we get from a few different places: Yellow Pages, for example, as well as other third-party providers. However, the basic information that you submit through Google Places is the information that we trust the most." So Maps and Places are not exactly the same thing. Your Google Places is a listing that allows you to create, verify, and control the content describing your business. But your business may be listed on Google Maps due to input from others. The standard Maps link: "Put your business on Google Maps" leads you to the Google Places service, where you can find, claim and edit an existing listing for your business.
Myth #2: You have to have a physical store to put your business on Google Maps
Fact #2: New in 2010, you don't have to show your mailing address publicly in your Google Places Listing.
You can opt to show your service area instead. The map pin looks like a dot instead of a pointed pin-type shape. While Google requires a mailing address to create your listing, you have the option to keep that address private and show your service area instead. This suits home-based businesses and those with no office address who want to get found in the local area. If you don't want a personal address broadcast to the world, you can keep that off line.
Myth #3: Unless I put my self in Google Maps, I won't get a marker and my business won't be listed there.
Fact #3: Google Maps pulls information from the community and other business directories, and aggregates it.
Some businesses find they are already have a marker and listing on Google maps. Active Google Maps listings come in 2 types: verified and unverified. In a verified listing, Google and the business owner have completed a process that enables the business to claim and control much of the content of the listing. Unverified listings are made from community data and aggregate data, and are not claimed or controlled by any one business owner.
Myth #4: The 7 pack, or the group of 7 listings beside a map at the top of the search results list in Google, is the way Google returns the best matches relevant to a local area.
Fact #4: Google also returns a 1 box, 2 pack or 3 pack listing.
While the 7 pack may be more familiar, Google does return listings in other groupings. What kind of pack you get is not completely under your control. Groupings depend on words people use to search: Google matches location related words, like a zip code, city or place name in the query, and general terms, like "pizza" You will see 1, 2, 3 or 7 items next to a map at the top of the search results, depending on the number of place listings found to match in that area
Myth #5: You have to have a website to put your business on Google Maps
Fact #5: No website required.
Google requires a business name, mailing address and phone number. Start with these, and you can make your business visible on Google Maps and Google Places.
Myth #6: There are many bigger businesses in my area doing the same thing -- it's too hard to get my business to show up near the top of the search results in the 7 pack.
Fact #6: There is a lot you can do to improve your ranking in Google Places.
For starters, make sure your business name includes a primary word for the type of work you do. "Pop's Market" might be too general. But by putting specific key words in your business listing, " Pop's Market: Organic produce and free range poultry." You have 60 characters. Use them wisely. (Optimizing your Google Places listing is a worthy subject unto itself.)
Myth #7: If I create my own listing in Google Places, I have complete control over the content.
Fact #7: You control some of the content, but not all of it.
Anyone can post a review of your products or services, on your listing. Remember that Google Maps and Google Places listings are for the benefit of the community, not your business alone. Reviewers can say good and bad things about your company. Reviews on the whole benefit your listing, because listings with review comments tend to rank better than listings without comments.
If you complete the process to verify your listing, you have the most control. You can post a description, hours, and assign categories, to help your site rank well in search results. If a comment from the community violates Google's guidelines for posting, you can ask to have it removed.
In Conclusion:
One of the best things you can do for your business is post a Google Places lsting. You'll learn a lot from the weekly report of any clicks or impressions (appearances in search results) your listing gets as a result. It's not a substitute for your website, but gives areal boost to your visibility online, whether you have a website or not.

How to Share and Edit Similar Content With Google Docs

How to Share and Edit Similar Content With Google Docs

By Philip Robinson

Google Docs is a free tool that Google provides and all you need is an account with them (and if you have a Gmail account, this means you already have a Google account). If not, it's free to sign up. This tool acts like an on line word processor where you can either upload your own files or create them there and then.

This in turn means that you can access these files from any computer with internet access and is not limited to word processors but also includes spreadsheets and presentations. A few of the features with their corresponding benefits that are included are that you can work from a template, you can add images or video, forms, surveys and it accepts most file formats. For presentations for example you can do these in power point formats, as a spreadsheet or based on a word processor with bullet points, embedded images, and so on.

Just the facility of making documents and spreadsheets that are saved on line and easily accessed from any computer makes it more than a good tool - for team work and joint presentations it becomes a great tool. Google Docs actually goes beyond just writing and editing documents and spreadsheets. There is the ability to share and collectively edit documents with other users.

How this works is that you have options that allow you to define the type of sharing that you want to do. The first is to invite others to the document. This means that the material will be shared with them so they can look at it and even edit the content if they wish to do so. This is good when you are working on a project with someone else and need to both be able to edit the document and give feedback. You can even have your document completely accessible or sharply restricted; you can publish it to your web or blog.

The other options are to send the document as an email attachment so that someone else can open it up either in Google Docs or their office suite like Microsoft Word.

Using the interface in Google Docs is a much easier way of compiling information between two or more parties than trying to sync Word documents through email.

The one thing to always keep in mind is to keep physical backups of your work as Google Docs could lose information. This hasn't happened yet, but at some point in time could and is just basic common sense. It's easy to export hundreds of documents quickly in a zip file for backup.

While many of us are satisfied to whack in just a few words when searching for some bits of information via Google, a couple of minor tweaks can actually make it a lot more reliable like the use of the key syntax "define:." The said function will give an easy access to Google's free dictionary service, defining the words and/or phrases searched for. Plus, it will provide lists of organized definitions and source pages that can also define the same or similar words or phrases.

What great thing it is to have Mr. Google tell us the weather forecast for day besides checking the newspaper! Google's weather guide will tell us the day's wind forecasts, humidity and even temperature. It is so handy that it will even give predictions for the next five days.

Big Mailbox

Another great thing about Google is that it provides free big mailboxes for users. This email service is popularly known as Gmail. Aside from the relatively large spaces for email users, Gmail has also a linked document service known as Google Docs Forms.

The Google Docs Form enables users to create, modify and save files in document formats that are similar to Microsoft's Word and Excel processors. These files can be organized in folders, published and shared between Gmail account users. Also, other types of files can be placed in shared domains linked to Google Docs Form.
