Qualities of a Good Content Writer

Qualities of a Good Content Writer

By Zaheer Thomas

Every content writer needs to answer the question "Why hire me". There could be a lot said on it, but frankly its about being practical than trying to make an impression. Let's face it, this generation entrepreneurs are looking for straight forward information and one that convinces them through well supported data. To put it simple, a fast mouth doesn't cut it anymore.

Know-how

There are many who advocate the false notion that anybody who speaks good English can back it up with good content writing too. A good content writer's work is based on how persuasive he or she is with the copy they deliver for clients. A person who speaks good English could write, but not always with a copy that is influential or resonant. The thing with persuasive content is that it only comes with experience. An experience one gets to see through the various business streams that the content writer has developed copy for. An experienced content writer could easily pick up the trade, terms, business flow, customers and their background, saving you time to train and getting you the result you require. Experience also makes it easier for content writers to adapt themselves to the style required for that particular industry, and the language to boost search engine rankings.

Time

I have written copy for many companies and I have seen them all stress on the point of being responsive to the request of clients. Your service is as good as your response and nothing has changed with the content writing too. Business requires speed to stay in the game and a content writer who responds after three days to a request handed in is a definite No -No.

Speed to meet business needs is important, but if your copy lacks quality, you're toast! There are a tons of writers out there who could give you want you want in a set deadline. Nine times out of ten, these articles or documents would require a rework. A good content writer would be honest with you and let you know how much time is truly required for that particular piece and if you still want to be miserly and get the maximum out of the deal, you could, as long as you got a backup plan to handle low quality content.

The World Wide Web

Remember what you read earlier on data to support. Almost all content writers will have at least a blog going. But some go all the way and have a good website to support their services. Read into their website, look at their samples, the industries they cater to and watch out for a social networking site that they have got themselves going. A good content writer will strive to develop a commanding online presence with his or her blog or website.
